PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molybdenum-containing compound oxide catalyst which is used when methacrolein is produced by vapor-phase catalytic oxidation of at least one compound selected from the group comprising isobutylene and t-butyl alcohol in a molecular oxygen-containing gas, and which has high activity and allows a high boiling point compound to be hardly produced as a by-product and methacrolein to be produced stably in high yield.
SOLUTION: A method for producing the compound oxide catalyst containing molybdenum and bismuth comprises the stages of: adding an organic acid to an aqueous combined material, which is obtained by combining supply source compounds of at least two constituent elements of molybdenum and bismuth with each other in an aqueous system, to prepare a solution or slurry containing a catalyst raw material; drying the prepared solution or slurry; and firing the resulting dried material. The ratio of the acid content of the compound oxide catalyst on the high-temperature side to that of the compound oxide catalyst on the low-temperature side according to an ammonia temperature-programmed desorption method is ≤0.14.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
