摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of an electrophoretic display device and the like capable of displaying images with high contrast even at low temperature. <P>SOLUTION: A driving method of an electrophoretic display device includes an image rewriting step of rewriting an image displayed on a display by the following steps of: applying voltage based on a drive pulse signal repeatedly changing potential between a first potential and a second potential, which is different from the first potential, to common electrodes; applying the voltage based on the drive pulse signal to each of a plurality of pixel electrodes; and moving electrophoretic particles by an electric field generated between the pixel electrodes and the common electrodes. The image rewriting step comprises the steps of: a first pulse application step S60 using the drive pulse signal, whose pulse width of the first potential is a first width; a drive stopping step S80 being performed after the first pulse application step S60 without causing the electric field to be generated between the pixel electrodes and the common electrodes; and a second pulse application step S82 being performed after the drive stopping step S80 and using the drive pulse signal, whose pulse width of the first potential is a second width. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
