<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card connector capable of preventing a card such as a SIM card from being inserted in a wrong direction. <P>SOLUTION: A card connector is provided with a slider 8 capable of moving in a housing 1, a return spring 9 for energizing the slider in the push-out direction and a lock mechanism for regulating the slider's movement at a prescribed push-in position. The lock mechanism is provided with a rotating piece 10 supported by the housing 1 to be rotatable and a lock pin 11 of which one end is supported by the rotating piece 10. The lock pin 11 has a regulation part 14 at the other end for engaging with the slider mutually to regulate the movement of the slider, so that the regulation part 14 can switch from the position in which the movement of the slider is regulated to the position in which the regulation is released, interlocking with the rotation of the rotating piece 10.
