<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discoloration inhibitor and a method for inhibiting discoloration, which are capable of effectively inhibiting discoloration of a dentifrice containing catechins at high concentrations over time. <P>SOLUTION: The discoloration inhibitor is used in a dentifrice containing ≥0.01 mass% catechins, (A) ascorbic acid or a salt thereof and (B) polyphosphoric acid or a salt thereof and having a pH of ≤6.5. The discoloration inhibitor for the dentifrice comprises (C) at least one chosen from linalyl acetate, linalool, limonen, anethole, thymol, citral, eugenol, methyl salicylate and ethyl acetate as an active ingredient. The method for inhibiting discoloration of the dentifrice containing ≥0.01 mass% catechins comprises: adjusting the pH of the dentifrice to ≤6.5 and adding the components (A) to (C) thereto. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
