PURPOSE: A combustion control method for avoiding a resonant zone is provided to prevent the inconvenience of users caused by sympathetic sound. CONSTITUTION: A combustion control method for avoiding a resonant zone is as follows. The operation of a timer for delaying sympathetic sound is started(S1). If the initial amount of heat is more than the maximum calorific value of low combustion, high combustion is operated. If the initial amount of the heat is less than the maximum calorific value of the low combustion, the low combustion is operated. If the present heat amount of a burner is more than the maximum calorific value of the low combustion, middle combustion is operated. If the present heat amount is more than the maximum calorific value of the middle combustion in the middle of the middle combustion, whether or not resonant sound delay time determined by the timer for delaying sympathetic sound passes or not is determined. If the resonant sound delay time does not pass and the present heat amount is more or same with the maximum calorific value of the resonant sound, the high combustion is operated. If the present heat amount is not more or same with the maximum calorific value of the resonant sound, the middle combustion is maintained. If the sympathetic sound delay time passes and the present heat amount is more than the maximum calorific value of the middle combustion, the high combustion is operated. If the present heat amount is not more than the maximum calorific value of the middle combustion, the middle combustion is maintained(S16).
