BLOOD FLOW VELOCITY CALCULATION APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein a measurement range of a measured blood flow velocity sometimes depends on a scanning direction of a scanning means.

SOLUTION: This blood velocity calculation apparatus includes: an irradiation means irradiating an examined eye with measurement light while performing scanning by the scanning means; an acquisition means acquiring a first image of the examined eye based on returned light from the examined eye by the measurement light used for the scanning in a first sub-scanning direction of the scanning means, and a second image of the examined eye on a time different from the first image based on returned light from the examined eye by the measurement light used for the scanning in a second sub-scanning direction of the scanning means; and a calculation means calculating the blood flow velocity of the examined eye based on scanning information including information of the first and second sub-scanning directions.
