<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short-circuit detection device capable of detecting short-circuit of a coil without providing a temperature sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A short-circuit detection device has: a switch controller 12 singly outputting a pulse signal to a switch connected to a power supply to turn on the switch for a period depending on a pulse width of the pulse signal and singly input a current from the power supply to a coil connected to the power supply and the switch; a current detector 14 detecting a current that is output from the coil; and a short-circuit detector 16 detecting short-circuit of the coil based on change in a current value detected by the current detector 14 when the switch is turned on. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
