<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce electric power required for reporting an error in an image-forming device which reports an error while keeping an energy-saving mode in which the power source of a CPU is turned off. <P>SOLUTION: When a failure occurs in a device in an energy-saving mode, a status-reporting control part 21 reports errors to host PCs 6-8 through a LAN I/F18. For example, when an error occurs in a reading part 15, an error interrupt signal is transmitted from the reading part 15 to the status-reporting control part 21. The status-reporting control part 21 reads a network packet from a sub ROM 22 and adds the contents of the error to the network packet to generate an error-reporting packet and transmits it to the host PCs 6-8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
