988,657. Regulating I.C. engines. A. MIZUNO. Dec. 16, 1963 [Dec. 26, 1962], No. 49655/63. Heading FIB. [Also in Divisions B7 and F2] In an r.C. engine throttle control device, the throttle spindle 3, Fig. 1, is connected by linkage 4, 5 to an electromagnet 7, Fig. 2 which, when energized, is attracted to and maintained at a desired position on a ferromagnetic plate 12 displaceable by a motor 14 to regulate the throttle. A switch S1 Fig. 3 controls the electromagnet 7 and switches S1, S2 control the direction of rotation of an electric motor 16 (14 in Fig. 1). In a modification, switches for de-energizing the electromagnet are arranged at a vehicle clutch and/or brake pedal. In a further modification an electric motor drives an hydraulic pump which in turn drives the ferromagnetic plate through an hydraulic motor controlled by a three-way valve which may be electromagnetically operated. The plate 12 may be driven by a separate worm and wheel. |
