PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electric power steering device capable of keeping a stable steering holding condition at a small steering angle while performing steering wheel return control. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device assisting an input according to an assist target current Io based on an assist base current value is provided with a current adding means A calculating a reaction force current value Ia giving a return reaction force to a steering angle neutral direction based on a vehicle speed v and a steering angle θ at the time of a small steering angle and adding the reaction force current value Ia to the assist base current value Ib, a judging means 45 judging whether the steering wheel is in a hand-off state or not based on a steering torque T, a calculating means 46 calculating a steering wheel return correction current value Isb based on the steering angle θ, the vehicle speed v, and the steering torque T when the hand-off state is judged by the judging means 45, and a control means S adding the correction current value Isb calculated by the calculating means 46 to the assist base current value Ib only when the judgment result of the judging means 45 is the hand-off state.
