The unit has a fuel pump arranged in a swirl pot by a pump holder (10), and a fuel filter arranged in the swirl pot downstream of the fuel pump and connected with the fuel pump by a pipeline. A filter cartridge is arranged in a housing of the fuel filter. The fuel pump and the fuel filter are insertable from the top into receivers (11, 12) that are provided in the pump holder according to a mounting position and secured in the receivers by attachment members i.e. engagement hooks (13). The attachment members and the pump holder are designed as a single-piece component.
