PURPOSE: An STB(Set Top Box) remote control apparatus and method thereof are provided to enable an SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) manager to remotely control an STB by acquiring an IP(Internet Protocol) address allocated to the STB. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(320) provides key button input data to a control unit(310). A display unit(330) displays state information generated in the operation of a terminal according to the control unit on a screen. The control unit acquires an IP address allocated to the STB by connecting to an internet site. The control unit remotely controls an STB including an SNMP agent by connecting to an SNMP manage through the IP address.
