A socket for attaching electronic components and a contact carrier used in the same are provided to install plural contact terminal groups, which arrange several connecting terminals for a board of the contact in a row, by spacing shield terminal installation intervals for installing connecting terminals for the board of shield members and arrange the connecting terminal for the board of the shield member within the shield terminal installation interval between respective contact terminal groups, thereby checking a connecting status for the board of the connecting terminal for the board as acquiring a shield function for the connecting terminal for the board and contributing to miniaturization of the whole socket. A socket(20) for attaching electronic components comprises the followings: a housing(24) which has an electronic component receiving part for receiving the entire or a part of the electronic components; a contact which is fixed on the housing(24) and has a contact part which is electrically connected to the electronic components inserted into the electronic component receiving part; and a shield member(26,27) which is composed of a conductive metal plate covering the circumference of the housing(24). |
