REFLECTIVE COLOR FILTER AND APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COLOR DISPLAY EMPLOYING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A reflective color filter, a reflective color display device using the same, and a display method thereof are provided to reduce color loss while partitioning area using an improved variable photonic crystal. CONSTITUTION: First and second photonic crystal regions(11,13) reflect light of a selected wavelength band from external light. The first and second photonic crystal regions include a variable photonic crystal. The variable photonic crystal controls an optical band gap corresponding to a light reflection frequency band. A controller(50) separately stimulates the first and second photonic crystal regions. The controller controls the optical band gap of the variable photonic crystal of the first and second photonic crystal regions. The controller provides a desired color by mixing light of a selected wavelength band. An absorption plate is arranged on the lower part of the first and second photonic crystal regions.
