<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high safety antagonist agent for an oxidized LDL receptor LOX-1 which is expressed by a vascular endothelial cell, macrophage or the like, and to provide a food composition, and a prophylactic agent and a therapeutic agent of a cardiovascular disease or cancer containing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The antagonist agent comprises flavonoid gallate shown by the following formula (1) as an active ingredient.
