<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a plurality of terminals correctly regardless of errors in the shape of battery cells. <P>SOLUTION: A battery assembly 1 is housing a plurality of battery cells 3 in a container 2. The battery cells 3 are affixed to a cover plate 23 in contact therewith. Between the battery cell 3 and a baseplate 21a, deformed positioning members 27, 28 are provided. In a step for attaching the battery cells 3, the positioning members 27, 28 contribute to tentative fixing of the battery cells 3. Furthermore, a support member 29 having a rigidity higher than that of the positioning members 27, 28 is provided between the battery cell 3 and a baseplate 21a. The support member 29 is shaped to come into contact with a bottom face 31e of the battery cell 3 in a soft state, and hardened in contact with the bottom face 31e.
