<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and a control method therefor that are capable of a focal point detection operation suitable for photographing a moving image even when an imaging lens not compatible to a minuscular-amount driving is mounted. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device uses an imaging element having an imaging pixel and a phase difference detecting pixel. If an aperture diameter is not capable of phase-difference detection AF using a phase-difference-detecting pixel when necessity of a restart of focal-point detection is determined during recording of a moving image, the aperture diameter is changed to an aperture of an aperture diameter enabling the phase-difference detection AF during the focal-point detection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
