<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the reading of a discount label from being forgotten. <P>SOLUTION: A code reader includes image capturing means, first detect means, second detect means, and reporting means. The image capturing means captures an image taken by imaging means. The first detect means detects a first symbol including commodity information on commodity, from the image captured by the image capturing means. The second detect means detects a second symbol different from shapes of elements constituting the first symbol, in the image captured by the image capturing means.
