<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a take-up device where an opening (aperture) for fixing an end of an object to be wound to a rotating body can be widely opened without increasing a size of a body of taking up the object to be wound when the object (such as sailcloth) to be wound is taken up by a rotating body. <P>SOLUTION: In the take-up device 1 for fixing the sailcloth 10 by closing the opening 6 after inserting the end of the sailcloth 10 into the opening 6 formed in a cylindrical rotating body 2 whose cross section is shaped in an arc while winding the sailcloth 10 around the rotating body 2 by rotating about a rotational axis J of the rotating body 2, the rotating body 2 is configured by combining two curved leaves having cross sections curved in shapes of arcs. One curved leaf is a movable leaf 3 which is revolvable, and a rotational axis S of the movable leaf 3 is arranged at a position eccentric with respect to the rotational axis J of the rotating body 2.
