<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for faster query input. <P>SOLUTION: A method for suggesting query completions for a language having ideographs and phonetic characters includes: receiving from a search requestor a partial query containing no ideograph or one or more ideographs and the subsequent one or more phonetic characters; predicting from the partial query a set of queries ordered in accordance with ranking criteria, the set including ideographs; and conveying the set of ordered predicted queries to the search requestor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
