PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cooling performance of a stator coil and secure insulating properties while suppressing leakage of cooling liquid from a cooling liquid chamber.

SOLUTION: A rotating electric machine 10 includes a rotor 12, a stator 14 and cover members 24a and 24b. A stator coil 22 is a cassette type coil inserted from an inner side of a stator core 20 into a slot for installation. A coil end part 23b on the side opposite to a lead of the stator coil 22 is formed to have a shape protruding inwardly in the radial direction. A cooling liquid chamber 38b on the side opposite to the lead is liquid-tightly formed by: the cover member 24b covering the coil end part on the side opposite to the lead; and a seal plate 40b fitted from the radial inner side or to the radial inner side of the stator core 20 so as to close an opening 39 formed between an inner peripheral edge 25 of the cover member 24b and an inner peripheral edge 20a of the stator core 20.
