<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can always capture an image having an image quality of a fixed level or higher regardless of the weather, or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A monitoring device 3 as an imaging apparatus comprises an imaging unit 12, irradiation units 13A, 13B which emit auxiliary light for imaging by the imaging unit 12, and a control unit 14 which controls the irradiation units 13A, 13B. The irradiation units 13A, 13B include the irradiation unit 13A which emits infrared light of a first wavelength range, and the irradiation unit 13B which emits infrared light of a second wavelength range less susceptible to be absorbed by moisture in the atmosphere when compared with the first wavelength range.
