<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converter circuit that can be restored from an off latch state without requiring a power shutdown of the converter circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The converter circuit includes: a protection circuit that outputs an anomaly signal to a power factor improvement circuit while the power factor improvement circuit section detects that an output DC voltage is a fixed value of voltage or current or higher; and a latch circuit that has an input section for inputting a withdrawal signal output from a control section and the anomaly signal, and outputs an off latch signal to the power factor improvement circuit. The off latch signal is output after the input of the anomaly signal and until the output of the withdrawal signal. The power factor improvement circuit section stops a step-up operation and outputs a PFC anomaly signal to the control section upon the input of the anomaly signal, and instructs the control section to withdraw the PFC anomaly signal after the withdrawal of the anomaly signal.
