<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing nanofibers, in which the size of a nanofiber producing portion unit is reduced to produce the nanofibers in a large amount. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing nanofibers uses a nanofiber producing part comprising a spinning nozzle for spinning a polymeric material having a long molecular arrangement. A high voltage is applied between a metal ball and an opening of the spinning nozzle. The nanofiber producing part also comprises a high speed gas-jetting nozzle in a direction perpendicular to a route between the metal ball and the opening of the spinning nozzle. The advancing direction of nanofiber spun from the spinning nozzle is changed due to the high speed gas flow from the high speed gas-jetting nozzle so that the nanofibers scatter toward a nanofiber collecting part. The diameter of the metal ball is set as small as possible such as that slightly larger than the critical value at which discharge does not occur, or set as small as possible such as that slightly larger than the critical value at which no liquid droplet/liquid particle is generated. Consequently, the distance between the metal ball and the opening of the spinning nozzle can be reduced and the voltage value of the high voltage can also be lowered. A plurality of units each comprising such a metal ball and such a spinning nozzle are arranged in parallel. Nanofibers scattered from the spinning nozzles in the units are collected together on a collecting face of a nanofiber collection part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
