<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce crosstalk by reducing wavelength dependence in a wavelength selective optical switch device that is used for a wavelength selective optical switch device for demultiplexing WDM light according to the wavelength and disperses the wavelength using a multilevel optical phased array. <P>SOLUTION: This wavelength selective optical switch device polarizes optical beams in different directions for every wavelength of incident light using the multilevel optical phased array. In the optical phased array, even when the number of multi levels is small, by setting the maximum phase shift amount of the phased array to be at least 1.5 π and less than 2.0 π, wavelength dependence is reduced, thereby reducing crosstalk. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
