<p>A prefabricated, floorless, self-supporting modular unit (1, figure 1), eg. a ships cabin or the like, has a supporting frame 3, to which the walls 2 of the modular unit are fastened and which defines the primary shape of the unit. The supporting frame includes a number of elongated support members 3, on top of which the walls 2 are fastened and by means 7 , such as a weld or glue, which the unit is attached to the deck 5a, 5b. The frame support members 3 have a bevel or recess 3a located inside the modular unit for accommodating the deck attachment means. Figures 5a-5g also show other various cross-sections of support members.</p> |
