<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment method of a friction material which can form a scorch-treated film on the surface layer of a curved external peripheral friction face in a short time compared with a conventional method, can uniformly heat the external peripheral friction face compared with a conventional heating device, and can further suppress a variation of the thickness of the scorch-treated film at each heat treatment of the friction material compared with the conventional method. <P>SOLUTION: In order to form the scorch-treated film 76 by irradiating laser light 54 to the external peripheral face 46a of a lining 46, the laser light 54 which is relatively high in energy concentration is irradiated to the external periphery face 46a, and thus the scorch-treated film 76 is formed in a short time compared with the conventional method. The laser light 54 can uniformly heat the external peripheral face 46a as a whole compared with the conventional heating device since the laser light 54 is not attenuated in terms of a distance even if the distance from a position of a laser light source 62 to a position at which the laser light is irradiated changes. Furthermore, in a scorch treatment process P3, the external peripheral face 46a can be heated at a prescribed temperature by an output condition of the laser light 54, and the variation of the thickness of the scorch-treated film 76 can be suppressed compared with the conventional method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
