The filter (1) has capture cells (CLin) and discharging cells (CLout) arranged in a predetermined pattern. A cell dividing wall (W10) includes a flat surface turning towards the capture cells or the discharging cells. A curved surface of the wall is in concave shape, such that the curved surface exhibits a thick part. The curved surface includes a number of capture cells per unit sectional area at a cross section larger than a number of discharging cells per unit sectional area at the cross section. The cross section is perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the cells. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a honeycomb filter. |
