A ranging unit includes a lens, first and second image sensors, an image signal processor to calculate a distance to the target subject using image signals output from the first and second image sensors, an image sensor controller to generate first and second control signals to control the first and second image sensors, respectively, a selector circuit to selectively output the first and second control signals to the second image sensor, a time counter to measure a first period and a second .period when the first and second image sensors are driven by the first control signal, and a timing corrector to determine the drive timing of the first and second image sensors in accordance with the measured first and second periods, wherein the selector circuit is set to output the second control signal to the second image sensor at the determined drive timing so that image output timings of the first and second image sensors coincide with each other. |
