The variable speed gear box (1) has several dual disc clutches (A-C) with clutch bells (8-10), which are arranged on input shaft (5) and countershafts (6,7) respectively. The clutch units (K1-K5) of the disc clutches are respectively engaged with each other. The fixed wheel (42) is connected with gear wheel (48) coupled with clutch unit (K5). The gear wheel (33) of spur gear stage (4) is located at the countershaft (6), and the gear wheel (36) of spur gear stage is releasably connected with drive shaft (12) of main section (3) by starting clutch (11).
