<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive steel for a high strength spring excellent in corrosion resistance and pitting corrosion resistance and having a low amount of alloy elements added, to provide a method for producing the high strength spring, and to provide the high strength spring. <P>SOLUTION: The steel for the high strength spring contains, in terms of mass%, 0.38-0.44% C, 2.00-2.30% Si, 0.85-1.15% Mn, 0.10-0.43% Cr, 0.15-0.35% Ni, 0.15-0.35% Cu, 0.05-0.13% Ti, up to 0.02% P, up to 0.02% S, 0.003-0.10% Al, 0.002-0.012% N, and up to 0.0002% O, with the remainder comprising iron and inevitable impurities. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
