<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a cooling fluid (for example, cooling air) to a terminal surface of an electric cell including electrode terminals, thereby effectively cooling the electric cell. <P>SOLUTION: A battery system comprises: a plurality of electric cells 2 which are two-dimensionally aligned; a battery housing case 3 which houses the plurality of aligned electric cells 2; and a cooling fan 4 which is arranged on a lower side of the battery housing case 3 and supplies cooling air A1 upward into the battery housing case 3. On a bottom 9a in a housing part 9 of the battery housing case 3, a cooling fluid inlet 11 for introducing the cooling air A1 is provided at a position corresponding to a portion below a gap d1 between the adjacent electric cells 2. A cooling fluid outlet (first cooling fluid outlet) 9 for discharging air A2 inside the battery housing case 3 is provided on one or both of a lateral side of a lid 10 of the battery housing case 3 and an upper side of a lateral part 9b of the housing part 9.
