<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road shape estimating device capable of estimating a road shape accurately. <P>SOLUTION: A road shape estimating device, which is mounted on a vehicle and estimates a shape of the road on which the vehicle traveling, comprises: an object detection part for detecting positions of motionless objects around the vehicle as multiple detecting points; a connection path line forming part for forming multiple connection path lines by connecting the detecting points sequentially; a driving course candidate selection part for selecting the connection path lines that meet the prescribed conditions as the driving course candidates from the multiple connection path lines formed by the connection path line forming part; and a road shape estimating part for estimating the shape of the road based on the lines of the driving course candidates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
