The present technique relates to encoding device and encoding method, and decoding device and decoding method capable of improving the coding efficiency of a multi-viewpoint 3D image. A multi-viewpoint image encoding unit sets coding parameters used when encoding a multiplexed image so that the coding parameters are shared between a color image and a depth image included in the multiplexed image. The multi-viewpoint image encoding unit encodes the multiplexed image by use of the set coding parameters. The present technique is applicable to, for example, an encoding device for encoding a multi-viewpoint 3D image.
