An emergency warning circuit when energized breaks the ignition circuit, but the ignition circuit may be re-connected temporarily without switching-off the warning circuit so that the vehicle may be driven to the roadside or so that the engine may be started after repairing a defect. In the system illustrated, when the knob (27) of the emergency switch (1) is rotated the rear turn-indicating lights (4 and 5) are connected to the flasher unit (9), and the connection between two contacts (25 and 26) is broken to interrupt the ignition circuit. If the flasher unit is capable of flashing four lamps the front lamps (2 and 3) may also be connected to it; otherwise they are disconnected. The knob (27) may be pushed inwardly to bridge the contacts (25 and 26) in the ignition circuit.</p> |
