<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct an image by comprehensively evaluating factors relating to reproducibility of a thin line such as "line width", "line density", "ruggedness", "blur", "color shift", and "interruption". <P>SOLUTION: An image correction device comprises: spectrum calculation means which calculates a spectrum of an input image in a frequency space; reference information acquisition means which acquires a reference spectrum in the frequency space corresponding to the input image; evaluation means which compares the spectrum of the input image with the reference spectrum, thereby evaluating the input image; and correction means which corrects the input image in accordance with the result obtained by the evaluation means. The evaluation means compares the spectrum of the input image and the reference spectrum while the reference spectrum is divided into that in an amplitude-appearing region and that in the other region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
