<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner which prevents contamination on a member such as a photoreceptor and a charging member by a metal oxide fine powder caused by isolation of the metal oxide fine powder from the toner in long-term use and which prevents fogging in a high temperature and high humidity environment and in a low temperature and low humidity environment. <P>SOLUTION: The toner comprises toner particles containing at least a binder resin, a colorant and a nonionic surfactant, and a metal oxide fine powder. The nonionic surfactant contains a block copolymer of alkylene glycol, and the block copolymer of alkylene glycol has a number average molecular weight in a specified range. A ratio of an extraction amount of the nonionic surfactant extracted from the toner with methanol to a theoretical specific surface area of the toner is in a specified range.
