<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an easy reducing operation on a shift converter catalyst 52 in a fuel cell power generation system. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell power generation system comprises a reformer 40 for producing a reformed gas 12 containing hydrogen, a shift converter 50 having a shift converter catalyst 52, a fuel cell power generation stack 70 for generating electric power by the reaction of hydrogen and oxygen contained in the reformed gas 12, and a controller 80. A method for starting the fuel cell power generation system comprises the steps of producing the reformed gas 12 at the reformer 40, supplying the reformed gas 12 to the shift converter 50, detecting a temperature rise in the shift converter catalyst 52 associated with reduction, determining the necessity or non-necessity to reduce the shift converter catalyst 52 based on the temperature rise, and continuing to reduce the shift converter catalyst 52 without generating electric power at the fuel cell power generation stack. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
