PURPOSE: A method for operating an image display device is provided to easily conveniently store a 3D video format and then automatically apply the saved 3D video format when the same broadcast program, channel, and contents are used. CONSTITUTION: A control unit displays a first broadcasting program of a primary channel on a display(S910). The control unit receives an input of setting a 3D video format(S920). The control unit stores the received setup(S930). The control unit converts the primary channel into the other channel(S940). The control unit receives a channel switch input to the primary channel(S950). The control unit displays 3D images adopting the saved setup on a display when the first broadcasting program is not ended(S960,S970).
