The device has a chute (6) removably attached in a body of a vehicle, where an end portion (31) of a control cable (3) is slidable through the chute between an opening (10) of a floor (1) of the vehicle and a connection zone connected to a part of the vehicle. The chute is bent longitudinally to impose a guide path to the end portion of the cable for bypassing components present in the vehicle body, where the radius of curvature of the chute is less than predetermined minimum radius of curvature. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a control cable in a motor vehicle.
