GASKET FOR SHIELDING EMI AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A gasket for shielding electromagnetic waves and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent cracking and delamination of plated films by gradually applying compression plated films during a plating process. CONSTITUTION: A porous element(10) is compressed during a series of plating fixing processes. The porous element is based on urethane foam or sponge with low density of continuous foams. Fiber(20) includes non-woven fiber and mesh fiber. The porous element is integrated with the fiber. Gradual compression is implemented to the integrated product while nickel and copper are plated to the integrated product based on an electroless or electrolyte method. The compressive rate of the integrated product is adjusted into a range between 20 and 80%. The compressed integrated product is dried. Adhesive is coated to the dried product, and releasing paper(40) is attached to the coated product.
