The system (30) has a fixed partition (34) in a passenger compartment (24) and a load compartment (26). The partition is moved in a longitudinal direction of a motor vehicle (10) to change volumes of the passenger and load compartment. A rigid fame (32) surrounds the partition on receiving displacement in the longitudinal direction. The frame is shaped to be fixed in the vehicle. A seal is provided between the frame and a periphery of the partition. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a passenger compartment.
