<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting defects in rotary piercing with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A rotary piercing mill 10 includes piercer rollers 1a and 1b, a piercer plug 3, a rolling load sensor 4, a thrust load sensor 5 and a control part 6. The control part 6 measures a rolling load parameter corresponding to the rolling load of the piercer rollers 1a and 1b, and a thrust load parameter corresponding to the thrust load of the piercer plug 3, and detects defects in rotary piercing on the basis of the rolling load parameter and the thrust load parameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
