PURPOSE: A method for selecting a representative, an apparatus thereof, and computer readable medium are provided to increase searching speed, to reduce the number of image nodes, and to select a representative image. CONSTITUTION: A similarity measuring unit(510) obtains image similarities between image nodes with reference to image information. A similarity comparing unit(520) compares the image similarity with critical similarity. A representative image selecting unit(550) merges image nodes corresponding to image similarity. The representative image selecting unit selects a first feature image as the representative image.
