摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device which can prevent generation of a shadow portion caused by lifting of a document surface, is small without lowering a degree of light collection, and has high light use efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The image reading device comprises: a light source for irradiating a document surface with light; an illumination optical system for guiding the light emitted from the light source to a region to be read having a length and a width; an imaging optical system for imaging light reflected from the document surface; and a sensor which is provided to an imaging part in the imaging optical system and reads an image of the document. The illumination optical system includes an optical member having a light collecting function and multiple reflecting members. When an installation region of the members of the illumination optical system is divided into two partitions by a virtual plane being perpendicular to the document surface and parallel to a direction of the length and passing through the region to be read, at least one of the multiple reflecting members is installed in each partition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
