A conduit (20a) is processed for installation in a heat exchange system as an expansion. In particular, the conduit is crushed to modify one or more flow parameters of the invention. The crushing of the conduit is preformed according to one or more crush parameters determined to ensure that refrigerant flowing through the conduit within the heat exchange system will experience a pressure drop of a predetermined amount while travelling through the conduit.
