<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reluctance torque in a rotary electric machine where the torque is generated. <P>SOLUTION: In the rotary electric machine, a conductor plate 11 is arranged as a magnetic shielding body generating magnetic flux which weakens electromagnetic force (negative electromagnetic force) acting in a direction where rotation of the rotor 2 is prevented on an anti-rotor rotation direction side portion of each magnetic silent pole portion 5 which the rotor 2 has. When eddy current occurs in the conductor plate 11, the magnetic flux is generated in a direction where the magnetic flux generated by energization to stator winding 7, which is generated between a stator 3 and the rotor 2, is prevented. Thus, the magnetic flux at the periphery of the conductor plate 11 is deteriorated and the negative electromagnetic force is deteriorated.
