The invention is intended to facilitate the manoeuvre involved in the approach and mooring of a vessel in relation to a stationary structure of a quay/jetty, without the assistance of crew or ground personnel, including in the case of adverse wind conditions or water currents that tend to move the vessel away from the quay. The invention comprises a tensioned transverse rope (1) connected at one end to the side (14) of the stationary structure (4) of the quay/jetty, while the other end thereof is connected to a damper device also anchored to the stationary structure (4) of the quay/jetty.
