<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique which suppresses a rate of occurrence of cracking of a lid even if the thickness of a body is reduced and the height of an engaging rim of the body is reduced, the engaging rim being formed on an upper edge of a body side wall and engaging with the lid. <P>SOLUTION: A container includes a body 1 and a lid 2 covering an opening of the body. The body has a bottom 10 and a body side wall 11 which extends circumferentially along an edge of the bottom and has an upper edge on which a body engaging rim 21 is formed. The lid has a top portion 40 and a lid side wall 41 which extends circumferentially along an edge of the top portion and has a lower edge on which a lid engaging rim 51 is formed. The body engaging rim has body cutouts 221 and 241. The lid engaging rim has a pair of thin-walled incisions 523 of 100 to 350 μm in thickness on which a lid cutout 522 that faces the body cutouts when the body engaging rim is engaged with the lid engaging rim can be formed and which are formed along the lid engaging rim at an interval equivalent to the width of the lid cutout.
