<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably maintain a network with simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: A network monitoring system 10 comprises: first and second servers 1 and 2 which are redundantly configured; a monitoring device 3 connected with the first and second servers 1 and 2; and an apparatus installed on a communication path 4 connected with the first and second servers 1 and 2 and a monitoring device 3. On the communication path 4 connecting each of the first and second servers 1 and 2 and the monitoring device 3, the apparatus is located where the communication path 4 overlaps itself.
